Very pleased to be distributing the first edition of the PSP’s newsletter, The Palm! Over the weekend, I joined other dedicated PSP members, including Women’s Wing head Wendy Low and Dr Ang Yong Guan, to give out copies of the newsletter. The PSP team hit the streets in Bishan, Toa Payoh and West Coast, and it feels wonderful to receive a warm welcome from residents. Thank you!
In this first edition, Sec-Gen Francis Yuen writes about the need to improve the quality of life for our older folks, help young local businesses grow, and the need for more diverse voices in parliament to strengthen Singapore’s ability to take on future challenges.
My fellow NCMP, Hazel Poa, also shared about issues close to her heart regarding the local landscape.
For those interested in parliamentary proceedings, there is a segment about “Parliamentary Questions”, how us NCMPs go about engaging the government in debate and the obstacles we face at every turn when trying to squeeze information from a stone.
And for the young, and those interested in charity initiatives, you can find out more about the latest developments from the PSP Youth Wing and the Progress Singapore Community Foundation.
All in, The Palm is an interesting read, so remember to grab a copy the next time you see the PSP teams on our frequent walkabouts!
